Did I ever mention how hard breast feeding is? So much work! But I’m sticking with it! Lucky for me,
I produce a good amount of milk so I pump it and store it so Jesse can help me in the middle of the night.
Anyway, I would love to hear your breast-feeding tips. That would be so helpful.
Gosh, my little ducky is growing at the speed of light! He’s so chunky now, well compared to before.
Having him is the most beautiful thing ever. I love being a Mom, I can’t wait to have another one.

P.S.
I’m still working on the decor of my house, so in a few more weeks the living room, dining room, and
kitchen should be all done. Then I will film a house tour (bottom level) and take pictures so I can show
you guys here! I Looooove the living room, the color palette is so fresh, clean and simple! With a
black, white, navy, silver, and hints of magenta as the color palette.

P.S.S
I also have the most AMAZING NEWS to share with you soon. But I will dedicate a whole blog post for that. KIT

Your little man is SO cute! He looks tiny compared to my chunky girl, she was 8 lbs 10 oz when she was born! Thank you for sharing the pics, and congrats on your precious little boy :)

  9. The best time to pump is in the morning. If you need help in increasing your milk supply, then whatever side he doesn't nurse on, pump. If he is bottle fed, pump at that time (if you can). That way your body will know that it needs to keep up with the supply. Also drink lots of water and if want, you can always take an herbal supplement called Mother's Milk (fenugreek).

I'm not a mom but my guy friend told me (this is weird) that his wife and her twin had a hard time breastfeeding because i guess theyre hole is too small and the baby couldnt suck it. so the dr said the guys could help. he said his sister in laws husband was too grossed out to do it but he did it and it worked. idk i know sounds weird. let me guess, your preggo again. i visit your page almost everyday and have never commented.

  23. Dulce, enjoy these wonderful days. Breastfeeding is good both for the baby and for you. You will recover much faster, and your son is getting everything he needs. Of course it is tiring, but when time passes you will remember these days with a lot of love….And when you look at your baby and you see how well he is doing, then you must feel proud of being giving him the best of you. Try to rest as much as you can, and drink a lot of water. Tienes un niño precioso! You have a wonderful son!

Keep your milk supply up!!! lol (even if it seems like a lot of milk right now) As your son grows he will demand MORE milk and you will be trying to keep up with him! if you store enough milk you will have an efficent supply and you wont be overwhelmed trying to pump around the clock.(low milk supply is sooo common) Im no expert but I've been pumping 7 mths n counting =)good luck =)

Glad you're breast feeding Izek! Some women obsess over not wanting to breast feed in fear of it ruining their bodies. The milk that you produce builds up an immune system for your little boy, so he won't get sick as much if you didn't. He is so adorable! It's amazing how much he's grown since the first pictures we saw of him <3

Your body will get used to it. Otherws u'll leak wen u dont want to. Be sure to freeze (lasts up to 6mo to yr) it soon after otherwise use immediately! Frige is cool but can only last so long…here's a site to ref. Good luck :) http://www.babycenter.com/0_24-tips-from-breastfeeding-veterans_8478.bc

  71. Dulce! I am so proud of you for sticking with breastfeeding! Every one tells you that breast is best but they don;t necessarily tell you how challenging it can be!
Listen, it gets EASIER! At the beginning you have moments where you doubt yourself and seek advice and many tell you to just give your kid the bottle and every part of you wants to convince yourself that you should BUT DON'T! Soon your son will start sleeping through the nights and find that schedule that isn't SO draining to you, your body and mind. Breast is best and easy! The convenience is like no other plus the bond…is priceless. Hang in there for as long as you can. I breastfed both my children until they were 15 months and knew that I gave them the best start and now that they are 4 and 6 I can say that even through school etc they don't get sick as often as other kids I know!! I know it is bc I breastfed! GOOD LUCK! I have faith in you and so does Izek!

I have faith in you and so does Izek!

    P.S. I'm a doula ~ any Q's feel free to ask!

  73. Also, there are a lot of books available to read *suggestions* on breastfeeding and pumping but the bottom line is everyone is different and you just need to listen to your body and do what's best for you, everything will work out.

Another poster says to feed on schedule and I never did, your breasts will adjust to Izek's demand. There were times when I felt engorged but it was never like the initial engorgement after baby was born.
Your breasts are like magic, they know Izek and will supply as much as he needs…as long as you are drinking enough (lots) of water and are consuming a balanced diet.

Again, I do suggest reading up on breastfeeding bc there is a lot information out there and knowledge is power but if Izek is gaining weight = you are doing great!

    :)

  74. It took me a few months to get breastfeeding down with no problem. What I wish I did was when my son would only feed on one side (always offer both) to pump after so your body doesn't think it's making too much milk. And to boost your supply you just have to pump after a feeding about 10 minutes and this will tell your body to make more. For a couple months while your body is trying to see how much milk baby needs it will always be a lot but as you start to regulate it will go down to baby's needs. If you still want help I encourage to pump, pump, pump! :-)

  75. You have the cutest little baby ever!!! :) You and your hubby look like such amazing & caring parents.

    Amazing pics. :)

  76. On the last p.s.s. at the end it says KIT…what does that mean?

  79. Amanda Carlson says:

just keep at it. it gets a lot eaiser after a few weeks. eating oatmeal keeps your supply up and pump after he nurses for 10 – 15 minutes even if nothing is coming out. its will stimulate you and your body will think they baby needs it and produce more. once my daughter had the nursing down, the hardest thing for me what trying to find the right/easiest shirts to wear for nursing. also please dont be afraid to nurse in public. if you are worried about being exposed you can cover and be discreet with a blanket or nursing cover. oh and one last thing…try not to use bottles if you dont have to. young babies can get nipple confusion and can starting rejecting your breast.

a trick i learned when breastfeedig my son was, while he was on one side, i'd have the breast pump on the other side. also while he slept i would pump and store the milk. in the end that helped me and him because by 6 months Elijah had 4 teeth. two on the top so i stopped breast feeding, but i had milk stored and still pumped. so my tip is pump while u feed Izek, it'll work great.

  113. good on you for sticking with breastfeeding. it gets easier as they get older because they get faster and they don't need to feed as often or as frequently. i found breastfeeding lying on my side in bed more comfortable than sitting up, and it's good in the middle of the night!
it's good you're pumping milk and saving it now because in a few weeks your milk supply will settle down to what your baby is drinking and there won't be as much to spare.

I breastfed for 16 months and I would just feed my daughter whenever she acted hungry rather than making her go every 3-4 hours. Its hard to see how much they actually get when your nursing so I think by feeding her in small frequent increments, it kept my supply going strong. I also pumped, ate healthy and frequently, and drank lots of fluids. Hope that helps! xoxo

I follow babycenter for advice and once you start introducing solids the best site in my opinion is wholesomebabyfood.com.

(: I breastfed my daughter for a while and the best tip is eating well & eating things that will help produce. Maizena, arroz con leche, champurrado, oatmeal, caldo de pollo, etc. <–muy mexicana lol but ur pumping & that's good for a busy mom & helpful dad! The 1st couple of weeks were so rough, we hadn't found a schedule that was consistent, I was always up & ouch! She was a yanker so I had to get nipple butter!! Ha but after that it got easier & I definitely enjoyed the bond we created & the time her & I spent that no one else could. I hope my son does too & I hope ur son enjoys it for a long time. Breast is best lol (:

    <3 your blog btw

  131. Nursing is very tough…I nursed my daughter for nine months and the only reason I stopped was because of her…she was too active and wouldn't be still…She was over it!! What I can tell you is you have to SET YOUR MIND TO IT! dont give yourself any other options…And just when you think it gets easy you will hit another obstacle like growth spurts or cluster feeding….It gets stressful.. :) Dont give up!

Best REMEDY I know. When and if you ever run low on your supply take FENUGREEK, its a natural milk booster.Found at nutrition, and organic supply places! CONGRATS

invest in nipple shields. when your nipples hurt super bad, just put those on top and your baby can still feed just fine. because sometimes mommy needs a break from the pain!

    I agree.
I breastfeed my 1st for 10 mos. and my 2nd for 6 mos. A lot of hard work and dedication..The trick is "supply on demand"..bur u all ready knew that.

Congratulations on continuing to push through with breastfeeding. It is difficult at first but you get into the grove of it. My son will be 1 year on 3/18 and I still BF. I also BF'd exclusively for the first 6months. Like all the ladies said if you are going to pump make sure that you nurse/pump 8-12 times a day so that your body continues to produce enough milk. Also tune out people who may say negative things that may have you second guessing your decision to breastfeed. Good Luck and you look gorgeous as usual. Wish I would have looked like that after I had my son but I am getting my sexy back now!! Love your videos and blogs.

I have son too, He is two months old now. I think the best — and probably hardest — breastfeeding advice is to relax! Remember that you and your baby are learning. Use pillows to support you and your baby while breastfeeding. Its important too feel good yourself. Good luck :)

Don't ever give up on breastfeeding! It is hard for the first 2 months. My son is 6 months now and I'm still breastfeeding andI don't wan to stop. My first son is 2 and I made the mistake of giving up. Now I got a second chance with my new baby.lol. Don't give up, breast milk is the best milk! XOXO

In reference to your comment about breastfeeding being hard..my baby girl is 4 months old and it hurt for the first 2 months. I don't know if it is difficult for you because of pain but if so..just know your body will adjust to it and it Will get easier. I had so much pain that it was upsetting when my baby was hungry. I felt bad..I love my baby but it was hard to want to feed her when she got hungry cause I still had not recovered from the last time she ate. Nobody tells you it could be like that but it can. It will get better soon too..just keep trying..you are almost there!!
