For my 26th birthday I decided to travel to Hawaii with Izek and Jesse. I very much needed a break because I was going mad, slaughtering myself with work. It was a last minute arrangement because we originally planned on going to Maldives, but Izek’s passport picture was inconceivable to get in a small amount of time. We tried going to Walgreens, but he was anxious and afraid of the photographer and wouldn’t sit still. We were left with no passport picture come August 20th.
We booked everything the night before we flew out. I went all out because I wanted to make sure that this vacation was one that we would never forget.
I’m sitting in the balcony of our room as I write this post, with the fresh breeze of the Pacific Ocean grazing my body and drinking my morning coffee. This week came and went so fast, but I’m just thankful to God he blessed us with this wonderful experience. We did many different activities, but we spent most of the time with each other at the beach because that’s what made Izek happy. He kept saying to everyone he passed in the hotel lobby right after, “I swam, I swam!” Just seeing him so happy made my heart melt.
We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton, which is in Kapalua/Lahaina. Upon arrival they greeted us with Hawaiian beads over our heads and even upgraded our room to a suite because we had the same last name as the lady who checked us in. The resort is huge and beautiful and the lawn is immaculately manicured, with the rooms exceptionally clean. The lady who cleaned our room would also come back in the afternoon to close our curtains, undo our bed, dim the lights, and empty our trash a second time. Not to mention how friendly everyone was to us.
There’s a lot to be said about this trip, but I’ll leave it at this for part 1 of my picture diary. I hope you all enjoy the pictures and thank you for reading! XO
