Outfit of the Day: First Day of Summer

Celebrated the first day of summer with my family in a very casual way. We all slept in pretty late yesterday which is something we LOVE to do! We then went out to eat to Malibu Cafe which is a gorgeous outdoor restaurant with an incredible atmosphere. We ate, walked around, played ping pong, and sat by the creek with a mint julep at hand. Perfect first day of summer!

Get Ready With Me For A Summer Night Out!

Summer is my favorite time of the year because there’s nothing better than a warm summer night!
I love to wear clothes that easily transition from day wear to night wear with the change of accessories. The outfit that I’m wearing is a beautiful romper c/o Kardashian Kollection. You can wear this during the day for some afternoon shopping with sandals and change into wooden platforms for a summer night dinner or event like I did here.

My hair was kept easy and minimal. I created waves with a large wand from the Curl Jam set form NuMe and tied a small section of hair around the crown. I then sprayed it with a flexible hold hairspray to lock in the waves. The cool thing about the waves is that they last for a few days. I love to add texturizing balm on my ends the following morning for a beachy, messy look.

Since the look is for a night out, I went with a little bit more makeup than I usually would during the day. I used this AMAZING new clay foundation by Tarte Cosmetics which gave my skin full coverage, yet it was still light and breathable. I then added a summer glow using the Benefit Watts Up! highlighter down the bridge of my nose and my cheekbones. For my lips, I went with a magenta shade lip color to match the small flowers on my romper and that pretty much completed the look.

REVIEW/DEMO: Benefit They’re Real! Push-up Liner

As requested, I’ll be reviewing the new ‘Benefit They’re Real! Push-up Liner’. It’s a gel eyeliner pen that was recently released at the price point of $24 USD. I first heard about this product at this very secretive event at the Roosevelt Hotel. It was a release party for this new product for bloggers and the media. What caught my attention was the innovating design that was put into this liner. The AccuFlexTM tip is something I’ve never seen before, and it makes the world of difference when you’re applying gel liner. The tip hugs your lash line and it gives you immense control and flexibility on design.

I still have to get used to it when it comes to lining the inner lash line. It’s been coming out uneven the first few times that I have applied it, but for the most part, I love it! I’ve been wearing intense cat eyes for the past few weeks and have gotten tons of compliments on my liner. It’s also great for this hot weather because it doesn’t flake and does not transfer on the lid.

In the video, I’m also demonstrating the removal process. Benefit also came out with a new eye makeup remover called ‘They’re Real! Remover’. It’s a very gentle yet powerful creamy gel formula that easily removes the liner. This product is coming soon and it’s valued at $18 USD. Using any oil based makeup remover or coconut oil will do the job though.

My ideal price point for this push-up liner would be $15.00. What do you guys think?

Let me know your feedback on this product either on the comment section here, or on my video. The more we communicate the more we can all help each other out.

Throwback Festival 2014

I can’t remember the last time that that Jesse and I had an actual date, alone. Needless to say, we were super excited for Saturday to get here. Believe it or not, I actually was a bit nervous about our date. As soon as we woke up, Jesse and I started scrambling trying to pick up around the house and make breakfast. And to make matters more intense, Jesse still needed to get a haircut (he had a baby fro).

Our plans were to have lunch and be out the door at 1:30pm, but we didn’t leave until 3pm. The festival was in San Diego too and the 405 traffic was horrible that Saturday afternoon. We made it to my mother-in-law’s house around 4pm so we had about 3 hours to be in our seats (event started at 7).

The traffic didn’t pick up one bit all the way to Orange County. Jesse then decided he was going to take a shortcut, and hopped on the 73 freeway even though we didn’t have the Fastrak. It definitely paid off because we got to SD in under 2 hours, and still had time to hit up Carl’s Jr…lol

Upon arriving at the festival, we received our green wristbands with our free drink vouchers, and headed to our seats. I wasn’t expecting such a big crowd. The DJs were awesome. They really had the place jumping. We seriously had the best seats in the house. I can’t believe Dj Quik shook my hand. He was the best artist of the night. Following Quik, was E-40, then Bone Thugs. I was really hoping Too Short would make a surprise appearance. The show was still fun, especially because I was with my man spending some much needed quality time.

I hope you guys enjoyed this BP. See you guys later!

Outfit of the Day: Thrifted Safari Top Styled

Today I wanted to share a look based around a crazy, safari printed top from my last Thrift Store Haul. My style has been evolving with me and for some odd reason I was very attracted to this shirt. And just like I said, it sparked plenty of conversation. LOL. I paired it with my favorite cargo pants I bought at AE last summer. Cargo’s are traditional in the safari so I figured they would be the best fit for my top!

I’m also working on a new fashion video on how to style metallic and I’m featuring another thrift store find. Can’t wait to share it!
